Welcome Senior Leader!
I tell people wherever I go, I have been hand grenaded, bombed, IED'd, RPG'd, punched, beaten, lived knowing I could die any day, and it was easy compared to being the senior leader of a church.
You guys are simply amazing and until you do it, no one really knows what you go through day by day, week by week. Some think they do, just because they have endured their own hard times but as a late comer to professional Christianity, I can attest to the fact that this is one of the most difficult jobs on the planet.
It is also the best job in the world. We get to see people transform in front of our eyes. We see lives changed, families restored, and all of us love it when the devil gets a good kick in the rear end!
It is all about culture
One of the things that I focused on for all of my time as a senior leader of a church was changing our culture. Every church has a culture, mine was no different, but I wanted am apostolic culture that would attract heaven. So thats what we did. I wrote a book about it, in fact I will give you an electronic copy of the book for free. Just please do not print, copy, or share it and above all, don't sell it. This is my gift to you as a way of saying thank for for looking after His Bride.
Click here, tell me if it you prefer Kindle or iBooks and I you will be directed to a download site. If you want a hard copy, you can order it from my store here.
One of the things I love doing is working with churches, their boards and staff to refine their culture and effect real, lasting change. I am not going to be the best 'church growth' consultant (It isn't only good things that grow, bad things grow as well!), but I am obsessed with 'quality growth'. If you are going to grow, make sure you have quality culture at work.
Whether dealing with disappointing impact, ongoing conflict that never seems to be resolved or seems like a need ending game of whack-a-mole, structure, or any of the myriad of issues that makes it difficult for heaven to invade earth, if I can help, please let me know.
Again, thank you for all you do.
Ian
