Change Your Thinking

Thoughts pull you into your future. Words construct your world. Actions sown, multiply.

This past Sunday, I preached on our mindsets and shifting our mindsets. The day before as I was preparing I felt the familiar voice of the Father whisper to me to tell everyone that ‘their lives will move in the direction of their dominant thinking.’ Not a single thought, but their thinking like Proverbs 23:7: for as a man thinks, so he is.

It is not God opposing your dreams, it is your thinking.

It is not God disappointed that you didn’t choose the monastic life and has opposed your dreams just because. It is your thinking that brings these realities about. It actually causes the fruit you experience. It isn’t your mom, your dad, your traumas that determine your fruit, it is your thinking. Of course, all the family stuff, life experiences and traumas affect our thinking and it is essential that we deal with these to think well but let’s get it straight, it is our thinking that needs to change. Our thoughts pull us into our future.

God is already in front of you, leading your steps one at a time. He is not resisting you, but you might be. The breathtaking simple reality is that you can shape your future with your thinking. Seems like a plan to me.
